Karen Fernandez Morales
DVM/Owner
Born and raised in sunny Miami, FL, Dr. Fernandez always knew she wanted to work with animals. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies (Go Gators!) before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University, where she met Dr. Morales. She enjoys dermatology, preventive care, soft tissue surgery and building long lasting relationships with her patients and clients.
From the very beginning of her veterinary journey, Dr. Fernandez dreamed of owning her own clinic. While she was originally set to open the clinic herself, life had other plans when she became pregnant and was due around the same time they were set to open their doors. Dr. Morales stepped in to help bring their shared vision to life.
Today, Dr. Fernandez is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter, a sweet baby boy, and three beloved fur babies. She currently provides relief veterinary services around Miami while the clinic continues to grow. She is incredibly grateful to Dr. Morales for nurturing the dream they both shared. You’ll often see Dr. Fernandez around the clinic assisting as Dr. Morales’s technician or filling in as the veterinarian when needed. She can't wait to join the team full time as a veterinarian!
Dr. Nestor Morales
DVM
Dr. Nestor Morales was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and went to University of Puerto Rico Cayey where he graduated with a bachelors in Biology. He then attended vet school at Ross University where he met his wife and he went to Auburn University for his clinical year and then moved to Miami after graduation in 2018. Dr. Morales is part of the AVMA, FVMA, and is working on becoming Fear Free certified.
Dr. Morales started working with Banfield when he first graduated and then worked for a private practice. He has since been doing relief work while they wait for the clinic to open. He has an interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry and he really enjoys talking to pet parents and making sure everyone is on board with the treatment plans he recommends.
In his free time, you can find him outdoors. Dr. Morales loves anything and everything outdoors and spends most of his free time in his backyard planting new trees and improving his tree house. He also enjoys going to the beach and spending time with his wife, 3 dogs, and chickens. Dr. Morales enjoys taking his truck on road trips where the entire family (dogs included) comes along.
Although it wasn’t originally Dr. Morales' dream to own his own veterinary clinic, he was convinced by his wife (also a vet, Dr. Karen Fernandez) and will actually now be the one to open the clinic instead. He has been very supportive of his wife's dream and it has now also become his. He will be working at the clinic as his wife is pregnant and they will hopefully both be working together in the next year.
